Summer Harvest

Sam loves helping pick "matoes". Then he likes to count them and squish them. Luckily most of them have made it to our table. Both boys love picking but aren't convinced that they like eating the tomatoes unless they are cooked into a sauce.

Our Week

Charlie finished his first swimming lessons this week. He did a great job of going into the water with his class but didn't want to put his head under during the class times. He would do it after with Sam and I. On the last day he went under a few times! He is now very excited to blow bubbles and put his face in a bit and wants to do it "all summer". Sam loved playing in the water and wanted to go "undah" and sometimes would put his face in a little. He loves to splash and kick his feet.

We went to the Children's Museum this week and had fun playing with foam paint. Charlie just loves mixing paints and getting dirty!

Yesteday, Charlie went downstairs to his work bench and came outside with aprons and tools. He tries to teach Sam how to measure and use tools.

We were having our almost daily discussion of Pa's strength in the car this morning. "Pa is so strong. Why is Pa so strong mom?" "Pa is a hard worker and he eats healthy food." "I am strong too mom." Immediately after that sentence I hear in Sam's raspy little voice, "Fam strong."

We Love MUD!

Mud brings hours of entertainment to our household the past few weeks. Charlie and Sam are "workers and we need to make mud". We've given up on preserving our flowers and plants in a small portion of our garden...it is now the mud zone.

Our New Sandbox

Charlie helped Pa build a sandbox on Saturday. He loved using his tool belt and helping hammer the nails. The new box looks great.

Franconia Iron Pour

We had a great time watching the iron pour at Franconia this past weekend. Watching the people working with the molten iron was amazing!
Charlie and Sam enjoyed the sculpture garden at Franconia. Charlie loved this sculpture and kept running up it and sliding back down. He can't wait to go back.
