Sam loved his second trip to the north shore. Throwing rocks into Lake Superior, the "willy, loud waves", and being outside all day were his favorite things about camping.
Charlie loved everything about camping! He helped take down the tent, collect wood, and made sure the bear box was always secure. You couldn't get in to get food ready without having him remove all of the tie downs he had hooked onto the locks! He also enjoyed his grippy, hiking boots. He reminded us of how they helped him climb rocks every few rocks on every hike. He also loved his "Banging Wall" - a limestone wall of rock that broke easily when "banged" with a harder rock.
We all enjoyed the hike along the Temperance River gorge area. It can be very dangerous with high cliffs overlooking the river as it runs through a canyon like area. There are many waterfalls to enjoy. Charlie was very cautious and worried when we took Sam out of the backpack. "We have to watch Sam by the river now." He can be such a caring big brother when it really matters.
